Local Artist Lauren Kindle’s Work on Display in Walter Hall
Rachel Wright
We are thrilled to announce that the artwork of Lauren Kindle, a distinguished local professional artist, is now being showcased in the junior/senior lounge in Walter Hall. Her captivating paintings bring vibrancy and creativity to this shared space. We invite everyone to take a moment to appreciate the artistry on display and kindly ask that all pieces are treated with care and respect.
This exhibit represents just the beginning, as we look forward to featuring more works by both professional and student artists in the future. Our commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression within our community is one we’re proud to uphold.
About the Artist
Lauren Kindle, a painter based in Easton, Pennsylvania, was named the 2017 Artist of the Year by the Arts Community of Easton. That same year, she received a partial scholarship for an artist residency with JSS in Civita, allowing her to spend two weeks painting in Civita Castellana, Italy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Art and Classics from Hampshire College in 2003.
In addition to her painting practice, Kindle is a dedicated member of the local arts community. For the past eight years, she has led a weekly figure drawing group at Lafayette College, providing a creative space for local artists. She also teaches private lessons and workshops from her studio in downtown Easton and offers classes at the Banana Factory in Bethlehem and Kettle Creek Pottery in Snydersville.
Artist Statement
"My oil paintings are intended as a gift to the viewer. They are inspired by my surroundings, my friends and family, and my home with its familiar interior spaces and objects. Using paint, I explore color relationships and emotional depth. I am a perceptual painter, working from life in a representational manner. I also use memory and imagination to guide my painting. My goal is to bring a sense of magic and reverence to the viewer, to reveal and elevate the beauty of the moment."
We invite all students and faculty to join us for an Artist's Talk and Gallery Reception with Lauren Kindle on Tuesday, November 19th at 2:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear more about her creative process and inspirations. We hope to see you there!
