MAX: Winter 2024

Explore Our MAX Winter 2025 After-School Courses!
From January 20 to February 28, Moravian Academy invites students to dive into exciting and enriching after-school programs on both the Swain and Historic Downtown campuses. Running weekly from 3:15 to 4:15 PM, these offerings include chess, Dungeons & Dragons, crochet, winter crafts, yoga, stop-motion animation, and tap dance—there’s something for everyone! These programs provide creative outlets, skill development, and opportunities to explore passions in a supportive environment.

Creativity Corner
Grades 1-5

If you have the creativity bug this program is for you! This is your opportunity to use our art room materials to create those original projects you’ve been dreaming of. Each week students will be offered inspiration and guidance to help them bring their creative ideas to life.

Read and Write Crew
Grades 3-6

Students will practice reading comprehension skills, personal writing (including cursive), and email writing (including typing skills). 

STEM Crafts
Grades 4-8

Each week we will create a winter themed craft by exploring STEM concepts. Students will be able to bring home their creations and will learn the science behind the fun!

Stop Motion Animation

Did you ever wonder how your favorite cartoons are made? Here is your chance to create your own animated film using the exciting stop motion method. Our program will culminate with the opportunity for our student videographers to enter their original films into our annual Moravian Academy Film Festival.

Melty Beads

Come join Teachers from The Yoga Loft of Bethlehem, as we STEAM our way through after school sessions - Come join our experienced faculty, explore the many ways we can get creative with our postures, our breath, and learn some tools for calming, energizing and focusing all, while making it fun - using STEAM - based games, art, music and more to make this an unforgettable after school experience for campers. 

Little Geniuses - PreSchool Chess

The Knight School

Little Geniuses instills enthusiasm for chess and helps your child gain academic confidence while learning the basics of the game and having a blast.  Your Little Genius will learn about being a smart kid and making great choices through singing chess songs, dancing, and engaging with our puppets as they learn to play chess.

Learn to bring a stage to life! In this exciting after-school program, we will be creating backdrops and props for this year’s 4th and 5th grade Lower School Player’s Spring production! We will be using a variety of hands on mixed media techniques, to prepare for the exciting culminating performance in January. This is a unique opportunity for students to create dynamic artwork that will take center stage! We hope you can join us!

No-Bake Winter Treats
Grades 4-8

Learn how to make some no-bake treats that will impress your friends and family! We will sample some and pack up the rest to share with others! *NOTE: Please let Mrs. Ronco know if there are any food or dietary restrictions so accommodations can be made!

Tap Dance

Welcome to our energetic tap dance class in which students will learn basic tap steps, develop rhythm, and have fun exploring movement and music. Tap is an exciting way for your child to enhance brain development! This art form requires a unique brain-body connection through rhythm and movement, highly boosting gross motor skills and brain work that improves other learning areas like math, languages and general academics.

Want to embark on a fantastical journey? Our Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Club is for students who are eager to dive into the world of role-playing games. This after-school group invites you to explore imagination, creativity, and teamwork. Each week's game will allow you to develop your role-playing skills while making new friends and having tons of fun. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or new to the world of D&D, this club offers an environment where you can learn the basics, improve your game strategies, and unleash your imagination.
