Lemonade with a Purpose: Students Raise Funds for Wildlands Conservancy

Amanda Kulakowski
At Moravian Academy, we believe in nurturing the joyful spirit of each learner and empowering them to become inclusive global citizens. This Fourth of July, Nolan '34 and Narayan Lal '32 from our Historic Downtown Campus embraced this mission with enthusiasm. They set up a lemonade stand with a goal far beyond quenching thirst—they aimed to support the Wildlands Conservancy and the vital work it does to protect and restore our local natural habitats.

Over the holiday weekend, Nolan and Narayan worked tirelessly and joyfully, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit and utilizing the language skills they developed through Moravian Academy’s SIP (Spanish Immersion Program). Selling lemonade in both English and Spanish, their efforts paid off as they managed to raise over $350, which they delivered to the Wildlands Conservancy on Monday, July 8th.

Their initiative perfectly embodies Moravian Academy's core values of community, curiosity, integrity, and excellence. By reaching out to their community and using their Spanish skills, Nolan and Narayan demonstrated an inclusive and thoughtful approach to making a difference. Their actions not only reflect their own growth but also serve to inspire their peers.

Nolan and Narayan's commitment to the environment and their proactive steps in supporting the Wildlands Conservancy illustrate the power of our students to lead and be catalysts for positive change. They remind us all of the importance of caring for our world and contributing to the well-being of our communities. Their story is a beautiful reminder of the joy and fun that comes from giving back and making a positive impact and we couldn't be prouder of their efforts.
