  Join Mr. Elstein and Mr. Pomeroy for an exciting program where we’ll be creating a series of simple machines that join together into a complex creation! Inspired by Rube Goldberg, a well-known comic artist and engineer who designed overy complex machines that experiment with cause and effect, this exciting program will give participants the opportunity to create kinetic sculptural designs that encourage teamwork, experimentation and humor. In other words, we will spend an exciting week making complicated machines that do simple things! This intensive program meets learners where they are and supports them in achieving meaningful growth through tailored, individualized instruction. Using benchmark data to establish starting points and regular progress monitoring to track growth, each student will receive targeted, personalized instruction. With small cohort groups of 4 students per teacher, the program fosters individualized attention and a supportive learning environment. Our goal is to combat the "summer slump" by providing engaging and effective instruction that empowers students to experience a "summer surge" in their academic skills, preparing them for the upcoming school year with renewed confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
