7th Grade Students Reflect on Identity in Chapel Presentations
Lindsey Permar
This past Wednesday, 7th-grade students Reyah Jaffer ’30 and Willow Nembhard ’30 took center stage at chapel to share their Identity Projects, offering thoughtful reflections on personal growth, values, and future aspirations.
The Identity Project is a cornerstone of the 7th-grade English curriculum, which centers on the theme of identity throughout the year. As part of this journey, students explored pivotal life experiences, key learning moments, and their personal beliefs, culminating in a vision of where they see themselves in 20 years. This interdisciplinary project also connected with their science studies through a DNA extraction experiment, allowing them to examine identity through both a humanities and STEM lens.
Through deep reflection and creative expression, students gained a greater understanding of themselves and their place in the world—an invaluable step in their academic and personal growth.
