Celebrating Lunar New Year Across Our Campuses
Over the past two weeks, we’ve joyfully celebrated Lunar New Year across all three Moravian Academy campuses!
On the Swain Campus, students experienced a lively showcase of traditions and culture during Town Meetings. They learned from both parent and student speakers, enjoyed the dragon dance, listened to stories, and received festive goodie bags.
At our Historic Downtown Campus, student presenters excitedly spoke about Lunar New Year with their classmates and on MABC. Lower and Middle School students gathered in Chapel for an engaging showcase by our Middle and Upper School Chinese classes, led by Lucy Luo and Jane Wang, along with a special performance from our 5th-grade Chinese exploration students.
Over on the Merle-Smith Campus, students hosted a Lunar New Year Gala featuring Chinese songs, poems, and dances performed by our Chinese classes. More than 130 family members, students, and faculty joined in the celebration. Additionally, the Asian Student Association led Chapel with student reflections and special performances by our Chinese class students.
