Luminace Brings Solar Learning to Life at Moravian Academy
Katherine Burd
Moravian Academy is proud to support renewable energy through our partnership with Luminace, the current owner of the solar array located on our campus. In exchange for lending campus land for the array, we benefit from reduced electricity costs while contributing to a greener future. The array generates energy equivalent to approximately 65% of the total electricity used across our three campuses.
This week, Lara George, a financial analyst and solar energy educator from Luminace, visited with six student groups across all three campuses to explore the science behind solar power. Students engaged in hands-on activities—building solar houses, cars, and balloons, and experimenting with solar beads—while learning about how solar energy is harnessed and the growing career opportunities in the green energy sector.
