The boys' 2023 spring season brought with it numerous victories, including winning the District XI Class 2A Championship as well as Ford Koch '24 and Aveer Chadha '26 winning the spring boys' district doubles champions, with Okezue Bell '23 and Kendall Bolden '23 taking the silver. According to the tennis team, their success would not be possible without their coach and mentor who absolutely deserves the honor of Coach of the Year.

While Coach Brown insists that "it's a team award," Ford Koch '24 and Aveer Chadha '26, the spring boys' district doubles champions, owe a lot to their award-winning coach. Chadha told lehighvalleylive.com:
"This year, Coach Rick instilled a positive attitude and belief in our players. He constantly affirmed positivity and reassured us that we deserved the team title. The importance of this title is significant, and we all understood that from the beginning, but coach’s inspiration allowed us to win it in the end.”
Koch agrees, adding:

“Rick is a very passionate coach and loves to coach and see the team succeed,” Koch said. “I feel as though Rick genuinely loves the sport and the team he is very good with doubles strategy and how to compose yourself in a match. Rick was an essential part of winning team districts he helped motivate our players and to adequately prepare them during practice."
This is the second time Coach Brown has received this honor. In 2019, Brown was the lehighvalleylive.com Girls Tennis Coach of the Year.
