Lions on the Court: A Season of Growth, Resilience, and Dedication
Maggie Champagne
This winter, our varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams embodied resilience, determination, and a commitment to growth.
The varsity boys’ basketball team navigated a season of highs and lows, proving they could compete with some of the toughest teams in the Colonial League. Finishing with a 4-14 league record, the Lions narrowly missed qualifying for the League tournament but secured a spot in the District XI 2A tournament. They will face Tri-Valley in the first round on Wednesday, February 26, with the time and location to be announced. With strong contributions from younger players, the future looks bright as the team continues to develop their skills and chemistry in the off-season.
The varsity girls’ basketball team, composed of one senior, one returning starter, and many newcomers, faced a challenging season with grit and heart. Despite ending with a 2-16 league record (2-19 overall), their hard work and dedication fueled significant growth and development. This young team’s perseverance has laid a strong foundation for future success.
A highlight of the season for both teams was honoring their sole seniors,Demarcus Klotz '25 and Grayson Domzalski '25, during their respective Senior Night games on January 29 and 31.
Both teams truly reflected the spirit of Moravian Academy—resilient, dedicated, and always striving for excellence.
