Our recent Wellness Retreat provided a unique opportunity for students to explore both physical and mental well-being in a supportive and engaging environment. Tailored for students in grades 4–8, the retreat aimed to promote overall well-being through a series of thoughtfully crafted activities and presentations. We are deeply proud of the students' respectful and enthusiastic participation throughout the day.
The retreat was designed to address the diverse needs of different age groups. For students in grades 6–8, the sessions focused on several critical topics, including:
The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health
Healthy Technology Habits
Nutrition and How to Properly Fuel the Body
Physical Fitness
Puberty and Sexual Health Education
For our younger students in grades 4 and 5, afternoon sessions were held to explore age-appropriate topics, such as understanding nutrition, navigating the changes of puberty, and engaging in a fitness activity that highlighted the importance of heart rate monitoring.
To reinforce these important lessons, students were given a reflective take home assignment to identify three key takeaways from the retreat. This encouraged them to share their insights with their families, fostering meaningful conversations at home. It also offered families an opportunity to engage with their children's learning, address questions, and delve deeper into any topics of interest.
We are grateful for the collaborative support from our students, staff, and families, which made this event so successful. We look forward to continuing these essential conversations both in the classroom and at home.
