Swain Campus Launches Student-Led Composting Initiative to Champion Sustainability
Maggie Champagne
The Sustainability Committee of the Swain Campus Student Council is launching a campus-wide composting initiative. After sharing their vision at last week’s divisional town meetings, the student-led committee partnered with campus leadership and kitchen staff from Sodexo to bring this project to life. Composting stations, already constructed in the organic garden, will now play a central role in reducing campus waste.
With students and Sodexo staff working together, the initiative aims to minimize landfill waste by diverting compostable materials to the garden. The committee further strengthened this partnership by delivering an informative presentation to Sodexo staff, fostering teamwork and a shared commitment to sustainability.
This initiative reflects Moravian Academy’s dedication to empowering students to lead with purpose, champion sustainability, and make a lasting impact on their community.
