Moravian Academy Students Shine at Lehigh Valley Science & Engineering Fair

JoAnne Daniels & Jessica Donahue

The Lehigh Valley Science and Engineering Research Fair (LVSF) is open to students in grades six through twelve from both Northampton and Lehigh counties. Sponsored and hosted annually by Lehigh University, this year’s fair took place on Saturday, March 15.

Twenty-six students from all three campuses participated in LVSF, showcasing their research projects. Many of the seventh and eighth graders who took part in PJAS this year also competed in LVSF, along with several enthusiastic newcomers from sixth grade.

As a feeder fair for the Delaware Valley Science Fair (DVSF), LVSF grants first-prize winners in grades seven through twelve the opportunity to advance to DVSF, which will be held from April 1 to April 3 in Oaks, PA.
Students who participated this year shared that they enjoyed presenting their projects to judges in a one-on-one setting. They appreciated the camaraderie among fellow presenters, the chance to see innovative projects, and the valuable feedback they received. LVSF also helps students build confidence in speaking with adult judges, refine their poster presentations, and showcase their dedication to long-term STEM projects.
